Hi, I’m Tessia—clinical therapist and founder of Strive Wellness and Consulting. I’m a proud graduate of the UL Lafayette Counselor Education Program, and I bring a wide range of experience from working in public schools, university settings, mental health rehab services, and private practice.
I’m incredibly passionate about education and truly believe that growth and learning can spark real change—not just in our lives, but in the lives of those we serve. I earned my Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on understanding and meeting the needs of underserved populations, which is work I deeply care about.
I enjoy working with individuals ages 5 and up, helping them navigate life’s many transitions and challenges. My therapy style is client-centered and systemic, meaning I look at the big picture of what’s going on. I often incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy techniques, especially when working with kids and teens. I believe that when we understand how our thoughts shape our behaviors, we can begin to make meaningful change.
I specialize in helping people who struggle with managing behaviors and emotions, and I offer individual, family, and group therapy sessions. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect with you!
